The Workplace Planner diagrams processes over a layout, so that you can calculate actual value added and non-value added time for each process. This program is great for evaluating how the work content will move within the layout, and how the layout design impacts the overall time time of the process. You can rearrange the layout to reduce walking and other non-value added tasks. You can create operation process reports to further study waste within the process. The tool also calculates ergonomic effects of carrying parts.

The Workplace Planner calculates actual distances of walking, time of walking, and the cost of waste! You can quickly re-arrange the layout, or the sequence of tasks, and see the effects of your “lean” process. Sketches on paper always look bad. We really think you should stop doing things the old way, and use a tool that combines the layout with the process steps. The tool also generates opertor process sheets that you can use for work instructions, or showing your operators what they should be doing so that you have standard work. You can even animate the people moving along the walk paths in the layout. This is a very cool presentation tool as you sell your lean layout.
